Barrel Assembly CMV CHF 5.56-1:7 - 10.30" Barrel, Government, Carbine with FSB
Manufacture ID: 07-077-02123
Cold Hammer Forging (CHF) of barrels has been known for decades to produce the most accurate, longest lasting rifle barrels obtainable. The Cold Hammer Forging of barrels is accomplished through intense hydraulic pressure applied at opposing angles by carbide steel hammers. During
the hammering process, a mandrel is inserted into the bore while the carbide steel hammers shape the barrel around the mandrel creating the chamber, the lands, and the grooves. In addition to the aforementioned benefits, the Cold Hammer Forging process changes the micro- structure of the steel making it stronger, with a defect-free bore and the most consistent chamber possible.
What started for Daniel Defense as a barrel project has quickly proven to be an industry changer. Unable to locate a supplier of Cold Hammer Forged barrels for our own rifles, we purchased a Hammer Forge capable of supporting our needs. In early 2009, after months of research and
development and labor intensive testing, Daniel Defense introduced one of the only commercially available 5.56 Cold Hammer Forge Barrels in the United States. After fine-tuning the manufacturing process and proving these barrels to be some of the most accurate and durable currently available,
Sophisticated equipment, such as the Hommel Optic, Micro-VU and Bore Scope are used routinely for complex measurements, ensuring each barrel is to spec. Daniel Defense barrels are finished with both a heavy phosphate exterior coating and chrome lined, or finished with a salt bath nitride, known for superior protection against corrosion while preserving the maximum accuracy possible.
Specifications:
- Caliber: 5.56x45mm NATO
- Barrel Length: 10.30" Government Profile, Carbine Gas with FSB
- Rate of Twist: 1:7
